Great news! Three of my poems, “The Threshold Machine,” “The River Beckons,” and “To My Daughter,” will be published in the Autumn 2018 issue of Illumen magazine!
Illumen is a print journal of speculative poetry, which publisher Alban Lake defines as “the application of imagination to reality.” Comprising science fiction, fantasy, folklore, myth, surrealism, horror, and all points in between, Illumen has something for teens and adults who enjoy imaginative boundary-pushing.
I have enjoyed reading the journal and would characterize it as PG-13. I’m excited to have my work appear this October!
Also check out Alban Lake’s other offerings. Not only does this independent press publish 6 regular print journals that encompass a variety of speculative literature, from vampires to outer space to kid-friendly spec lit, but also themed anthologies, novellas, novels, and poetry collections. (And writer friends, this is a paying market!) Keep an eye out for my review of a few of their books for kids!
